William Abello was born in 1959 in Paris (France). Production designer, film and TV set designer, specialized in special effects of genre films, his multidisciplinary career is related almost equally to film, theatre, dance and advertising.
Of Aragonese descent and closely linked to Monzón, Abello presents in Huesca an ensemble of sketches created throughout his trajectory. Behind every one of them there is a story, a life lesson and many hours of work.
As an adolescent, he was drawn to painting, photography and everything his imagination could represent. He studied at Edward Mac Avoy Academy. His debut work in the world of cinema -thanks to his knowledge of Spanish- was That Obscure Object of Desire, by Luis Buñuel, His next works, The Police War by Robin Davis and Trail of the Pink Panther by Blake Edwards, were achieved as a result, once again, of his language proficiency. Afterwards he started working in numerous theatre and short film productions, together with figures so remarkable as Gaspar Noé or Olivier Dahan.
His interest for the profession did not decrease and he continued training, thus he met Patrick Chauvaud, advertising designer, who became his mentor. At the age of 25 he founded his first studio with Zaragoza’s painter Santiago Isidro. It is a time of enormous activity for advertising, Canal+ launching or the first cable TV. They started to produce their first works as set designers for video clips at that time and, later, as production designers for their first feature film. He has worked for 32 feature films since 1976, nearly 20 fiction productions for TV, 600 commercials, 120 video clips and almost 50 short films. He currently runs a film production studio, http://www.abicene.fr/, and is artistic assistant for ongoing projects with ADC (Film Set Designers Association), http://www.adcine.com/.
The exhibition will count on the participation of the project performance ‘Dance with Me’ of Reina Sofía ATADES Centre from Monzón. This pioneering initiative in Aragón was launched in 2011 under the Belgian coreographer Dalila Rocío Estramadoyro’s direction along with William’s scenography. The group consists of 16 participants, 25 to 40 year-old, with different psychic pathologies and Down syndrome: 8 women and 8 men coming from Monzón and Barbastro, full of enthusiasm, showing through movement and gesture the enthusiasm for living, the urge for expressing through the choreographies developed within the group.

The Thin Yellow Line
On the map, Central America seems to be a -fragmented- geographical connection between North and South America; on the territory, the idea of diversity and discontinuity deepens. In opposition to the establishment dialectics imposing space segregation that leads to cognitive displacement circuits, which are differentiated by the activity and social class of each different person; this atypical road movie makes the circuits of five men converge into a unique discontinuous line. They are quite different from one another and their actions are motivated by loss, denial or wait.
CORTOLÍTICOS. REGRESO A LA CULTURA POP.
La Catalítica. Entrada libre.

Music videos are the visual ingredient of pop music. In the 80s, music TV spread dramatically the visual aspect of music beyond album covers, paving the way to a new dimension in the relationship between image and music in the field of pop culture and the subcultures. Presently, with a pay-per-view MTV, mainly broadcasting soap operas for a limited audience, music videos have found other channels and are broadcasted through platforms as Vimeo or Vevo, Spotify, Facebook and, of course, YouTube.
At a time when the internet –through these platforms- becomes a decontextualized file that grows uncontrolled, it is important to file and classify that which has been awarded and exhibited. The Goethe Institute along with Internac Festival and Huesca Festival have joined together to exhibit a showcase of German music videos produced between 2008 and 2015, example of the high artistic demands of some musicians, engaged with visual expressions of a high level for almost two decades.

Laughing, crying, getting scared, reflecting, enjoying or getting bored at the theatre, that depends on your mood, on your capacity to see and feel, as well as on the coordinated work of many people.
Sec. 1. Int. Day, Bathroom
Orosia is having a shower, she is singing in the rain. Suddenly, out of the blue, she has a brilliant idea. She smiles, puts on a blue bath robe and pops to the computer.
Orosia is a scriptwriter: a film has just been born. And it is thanks to the work of many people that it is possible that it grows: producers, the production manager and her assistants, the casting director, actresses and actors, the artistic direction team, the cinematographer and the gaffer, make up, hair dressers, costume, sound engineers, the director, the script, the special effects manager, the film editor, the musician, the box-office clerk, the projectionist and the attendant. And the critics? Indeed!
So that primary school students may get to know all these people, we have prepared the session Film Professions that, with brief explanations, participative activities (on the stalls and on stage) and projections, will show to the children these professions which make films possible.
The activity is organized by the program "Un día de cine. Competencia lingüística, alfabetización audiovisual y crecimiento personal" of the Aragon Government together with the collaboration of Municipal Play Centres.

'Romeo and Juliet' is one of Shakespeare’s most adapted plays. From the silent film by Georges Méliès to 'Romeo + Juliet' with Leonardo di Caprio and Claire Danes, the story has experienced some astonishing adaptations as the musical 'West Side Story' in 1961 or the film 'High School Musical', by Walt Disney Pictures, that used the plot of 'Romeo and Juliet' replacing the rival families for two school gangs.
In cooperation with La Joven Compañía and the British Council under the coordination of the film director Juanma Carrillo, about thirty young artists (directors, scriptwriters, technicians, actors...) haven taken part in the creation of four short films in order to make versions of 'Romeo and Juliet' from the perspective of four different film genres (silent film, documentary, drama and video art).

The end of the academic year coincides with the Festival, ouch! It could be worse, it could rain –as Igor would say in Young Frankenstein (Mel Brooks, 1974). Certainly it does not help, but it is no excuse. That is why the festival strengthens this course of action (initiated last year), so as to let the high schools of Huesca know about the festival as a showcase and about the world of cinema in general.
Thus, during April and May some education centres have been visited by the festival director who explained the festival history, what it is and how it is organized, answering the questions and concerns of young students, (16 years old onwards). All of this with a double objective: let them know their festival and value short film as an artistic form of expression.
Under the coordination of the program Un día de cine of the Aragon Government Education Department, it has been prepared a short film programme consisting of previously awarded works of assorted authorship, origin, genre and subject. It is available to the faculty of the centres as a working tool for their respective classes. Those groups which may have already scheduled the end of course activities, knowing that it was going to overlap with the festival, are invited to attend the programmed seasons at Olimpia Theatre and Espacio Zeta.
